Addressing Hypo-Glycemia and Type I Diabetic Patient Management
Addressing Hypo-Glycemia and Type I Diabetic Patient Management
Hypoglycemia is a common concern for individuals with type 1 diabetes. It occurs when blood sugar levels drop below the normal range, typically below 70 mg/dL (3.9 mmol/L). Since people with type 1 diabetes lack the ability to produce insulin, they are more susceptible to hypoglycemia due to the medications and insulin therapy they use to manage their condition.
This research project endeavors to address this challenge by developing a mobile application integrated with an advanced artificial intelligence (AI) model to help people with type 1 diabetes manage their condition more effectively. The model will be trained on a large dataset of blood glucose readings, insulin dosage, meal intake, physical activity, and other relevant data. Once trained, the model will be able to predict the risk of nocturnal and hypoglycemia episodes for individual patients. This project has the potential to make a significant impact on the lives of people with type 1 diabetes. By providing accurate and timely predictions of nocturnal and hypoglycemia episodes, the AI model can help people with type 1 diabetes to avoid these potentially dangerous events.
